Lung girls are more vulnerable to tobacco smoke than boys. Researchers at the University of Cincinnati, USA, studied 476 children.

Researchers found, they are exposed to smoke and to develop signs of allergy at the age of 2 years at higher risk of decline in lung function at age 7 years. Decline in lung function was six times worse in girls than boys.

"Our results show, when children have allergies to be very important," said Kelly Brunst, epidemiology expert from the University of Cincinnati as followed HealthDay, Saturday (31/3). Childhood Allergy and Air Pollution Study conducted by experts of epidemiology were published in the journal Pediatric Allergy and Immunology.

Long before that study, Department of Health and Human Services U.S. have reported that cigarette smoke that pollutes the environment children grow up bad for the health of children.

The developing child's body is very susceptible to cigarette smoke that contains 250 types of toxic chemicals are carcinogenic (can cause cancer).
